2 Thessalonians 3

Exhortation

1 ^aFinally, brethren, ^bpray for us that ^cthe word of the Lord will ^{▼▼ Lit run}spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it did also with you; 2 and that we will be ^erescued from ^{▼▼ Lit improper}perverse and evil men; for not all have ^{▼▼ Or the faith}faith. 3 But ^hthe Lord is faithful, ^{▼▼ Lit who will}and He will strengthen and protect you ^{▼▼ Or from evil}from ^kthe evil one. 4 We have ^lconfidence in the Lord concerning you, that you ^mare doing and will continue to do what we command. 5 May the Lord ⁿdirect your hearts into the love of God and into the steadfastness of Christ.

6 Now we command you, brethren, ^oin the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you ^{▼▼ Or avoid
,} ^qkeep away from every brother who ^{▼▼ Lit walks disorderly}leads an ^{▼▼ Or undisciplined
,} ^tunruly life and not according to ^uthe tradition which ^{▼▼ One early ms reads they}you received from us. 7 For you yourselves know how you ought to ^{▼▼ Lit imitate us
,} ^xfollow our example, because we did not act in an undisciplined manner among you, 8 nor did we ^yeat ^{▼▼ Lit from anyone}anyone’s bread ^{▼▼ Lit freely}without paying for it, but with ^ablabor and hardship we kept ^acworking night and day so that we would not be a burden to any of you; 9 not because we do not have ^adthe right to this, but in order to offer ourselves ^aeas a model for you, so that you would ^{▼▼ Lit imitate us}follow our example. 10 For even ^agwhen we were with you, we used to give you this order: ^ahif anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either. 11 For we hear that some among you are ^aileading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like ^ajbusybodies. 12 Now such persons we command and ^akexhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to ^alwork in quiet fashion and eat their own bread. 13 But as for you, ^ambrethren, ^ando not grow weary of doing good.

14 If anyone does not obey our ^{▼▼ Lit word}instruction ^{▼▼ Lit through
,} ^aqin this letter, take special note of that person ^{▼▼ Lit not to associate
,} ^asand do not associate with him, so that he will be ^atput to shame. 15 Yet ^audo not regard him as an enemy, but ^{▼▼ Or keep admonishing
,} ^awadmonish him as a ^axbrother.

16 Now ^aymay the Lord of peace ^azHimself continually grant you peace in every ^{▼▼ Lit way}circumstance. ^bbThe Lord be with you all!
